Canon: Battlestar Galactica
Characters/Pairing: Kara Thrace
Prompt: another way
Rating: PG

Blood that shouldn't have been spilled trickles into the hybrid's tank. Regret knifes your chest, but as you lean in she does the last thing you expect: she moves.

One wet hand cups your face; liquid blue eyes lock on yours like she's seeing you for the first time.

She's reacting to you.

"You are the harbinger of death," she promises, calling you by name in a voice ripe with reassurance. You don't know how to react, but you don't think that's what your mother had in mind so many years ago.

It's not what you had in mind.

This is... incredibly powerful. I like it in second person, too, it brings a level of detached immediacy to the piece that might not be there otherwise. Poor Kara. It sucks to be a harbinger of death no matter how you slice it.

Thank you! You know how second person is: scarcely used, but too stubborn to shake if the idea starts that way.

Man, there's no one I don't feel for during Faith.
